Films of 2012: 79–83.

79 | Rushmore (1998) | Drama, Comedy IMDB
If you like Wes Anderson films, you will like this as well. His first feature film, starring the underrated Jason Schwartzman, tells the story of the "king of Rushmore prep", who can't deal with with being put on academic probation. Very nice Sunday-afternoon movie.

80 | Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012) | Drama, Fantasy IMDB
Weeeeeeeell. I've seen this at a film festival without any knowledge of the film's plot. And I have to say that I expected something drastically different. You may better judge this for yourself, but it was a bit too poetic for me. The oxen were nicely done in CG, but I didn't like a lot of the story elements and/or characters.

81 | Seven Psychopaths (2012) | Comedy, Crime IMDB
The second of my film festival features, this was way more enjoyable than the aforementioned movie. "In Bruges" is definitely better, but this one was good as well. Fun fact of stupid German movie title translations: "Seven Psychopaths" is the original title, the German title is "7 Psychos". In case you don't understand the English title, you know? #headdesk

82 | Rocky (1976) | Drama, Sport IMDB
Me until I saw this movie: "It's a stupid boxing movie with stupid Sylvester Stallone and stupid music! Yuk! Will never watch this, will never like this."
Me after the movie: "OMG why didn't I watch this until now?!?!"
See, if Rocky was released today, it would be an indie-drama winning at Sundance. It's not what you think it will be. In fact, there's about 10 minutes of actual boxing in the whole film. Loved it, and it changed my view on Sylvester Stallone.

83 | Girl Model (2011) | Documentary, Thriller IMDB
Wow. We all know modeling is a weird and hard business, but… woah. The documentary follows a model agency scouting in Eastern Europe, and the girls they send on trips to gain model gigs. It also follows the scout, a former model herself, who seems to hate nothing more than the modeling world, but can't find a way to break away from it. Very sad film, but very interesting.
