Films of 2012: 94–99

… and that's it! After last year's 100-movies-challenge, I scored these year's movie to see how many I would watch and if I would rewatch. The year comes to an end with me having watched 99 movies, most of them I liked. A few disappointments a long the way, a lot of meh-films, but all in all, it was a good year. See you again in 2013!

94 | Home Alone (1991) | Adventure, Comedy, Family IMDB
There are movies you just HAVE to watch around christmas time, just because you have always watched it growing up. Kevin's ordeal is one of those movies, and it's just as funny as 20 years ago. If you have never watched it, shame on you! ;)

95 | Struck by Lightning (2012) | Comedy, Drama IMDB
Well. Chris Colfer wrote a movie, good for him! And he's starring in it, also good for him. The trailer was very promising and funny, and I was quite excited for the movie. Turns out, it's much more of a really depressing drama than a comedy. I didn't understand some of the character's motivations for their actions, and all in all, I was happy when the film was finally over. Some of it was very good and funny, so it's an OK-movie after all.

96 | Toy Story 3 (2010) | Animation, Adventure, Family IMDB
I know own all Toy Story movies on DVD, and receiving this one was a christmas gift, I really wanted to watch it again immediately. Superb finale to the trilogy, great movie, moving, funny, awesome, adorable. Perfect.

97 | Wreck-It Ralph (2012) | Animation, Adventure, Comedy IMDB
Yay, a new Disney film! Wreck-It Raplh didn't disappoint. Even as a non-gamer, I recognized some of the classic characters featured in the movie. It's well-cast, funny, fast-paced, and cute. (Well, mostly Sarah Silverman's Vanellope, just look at that little face, so adorable!) A must-watch for everyone who loves animation films and/or Disney.

98 | Frankenweenie (2012) | Animation, Comedy, Horror IMDB
Another film that I was really excited for. A new stop-motion Burton film, without Depp and Bonham-Carter, what a wonderful thing, right?! This was great. Funny, strange, morbid, emotional, a typical Burton. Watch it if you're into animation or Burton fiilms.

99 | Looper (2012) | Action, Crime, Sci-Fi IMDB
First off: Great make-up/prosthetics! Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks oddly Willis-ish. I don't know what to say about this movie. It's a lot of action, timey-wimey-stuff & people looking broody. Good, but nothing I would watch again or recommend.

  1. I can hardly wait to see Wreck-It Ralph! Ever since I saw the trailer I'd been looking forward to it.

As for Looper I'm very curious about it, but think I might wait until it comes on TV.
